Can you help?

Shirley is in need of some fabric to complete a project.  It is from Timeless Treasures and has #5753 in the selvedge.  She needs about half a yard.  If you are willing to part with your treasure, bring it to the Guild meeting on Monday night or leave word in the comments section and I will facilitate a trade.

In an earlier post I mentioned that our next meeting would be the fourth Monday of the month at the library---wrong.  Our regular meeting is Monday night.   Hope to see everyone there!

First Wednesday

Windy hosted First Wednesday today at the Herzfeld Memorial Library.  She brought a sweet treat for the early comers and a rebus for all of us.   I had forgotten how fun and challenging these rebus puzzles can be.  Here are the instructions and clues.

Here is the rebus.  See if you can figure it out.  The answer will be later in the post.

Look how busy everyone is.

Here is what they were working on:
Sue's block of the month from Pinwheel Fabrics.

Shirley is nearing the finish line on cutting out all these motifs.

Sue G. working on binding a charity quilt.

Windy's yo-yos.

Smocking for an ornament.

Binding on a quilt.

Linda's cross stitch project.

Linda's sewing carrier.

Marguerite's colored and embroidered quilt.

Applique.

Judy's project which she will demo at Daytime Stitchers.

Henrietta's green work.

Helen's applique.

Dorothy is working on her scissor lanyard.

Jean is crocheting a baby blanket.  The next picture shows how
much she has completed.

Of course we had to take time out to look through the treasure trove that Jo brought.

These are items from Marilyn's stash and we were free to take what we wanted.  It was like Christmas.  Thank you Marilyn--we miss you!  And thank you, Jo for bringing these things.

So do you want to know the answer to the puzzle?  Rhapsody in Blue. Did you guess it already??  Did you notice that the background was music, there was a rabbit and the letter "c" and they were both blue.  Here's a challenge:  See if you can create a rebus that is quilt-related.

We missed all who weren't able to come to First Wednesday.  Our next general gathering will be the Daytime Stitchers here at the library on the fourth Monday of the month.  Do try to come!

Until next time~~Gwen
