Charity Quilts

Since the beginning of our guild we have been making charity quilts.  Members donate fabric, time and quilting skills.  For quite a few years, Sidney Morris has been making her shop space available as a work area.  Would you like a peek behind the scenes?

There are several sewing machines available for piecing or quilting.
You can see that everyone is busy.
There is a nice big design wall where block placement can be auditioned.  And there
is always someone who is willing to do the pressing.

This is a stack of quilt tops paired up with batting and backing and waiting for
a volunteer to do the quilting.
Here are more quilt tops paired up with backings and waiting to be quilted.

Below are some of the quilts that have been completed this year and donated to Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock, Saline Memorial Hospice in Bryant,
New Beginnings Pregnancy Resource Center in Benton, and the VA.
A total of 42 quilts have been distributed in 2013.

On several occasions we have played Quilt Bingo.  Participants were asked to bring bingo blocks made of 25  2.5" squares in specific colors.  The next four quilts were made using these blocks.

This I Spy quilt was made by Fay with donated I Spy blocks that had all been cut out.

A great big thanks to all who have donated time, skill and materials to this endeavor!
