Regular Guild Meeting

We met for our regular Guild meeting Monday night, October 20 at the Benton Senior Adult Center.  In the 5:30 workshop, Eddie gave us a tutorial for an entwined border.  You can download the cutting instructions here.

When using this method, make sure all seams are carefully lined up.

Pat showed us how to put together our blocks for the mystery quilt:

After the business meeting, the 2014 Donation quilt was presented to the winner, Cindy D:

Marilyn Weaver, our guest speaker, shared her quilt journey with us.

After the program there was show-and-tell.  Sydney and Cely shared several completed charity quilts.  Our members have been busy this month!!

Sydney finished her snowman quilt and it was quilted by Eddie.

Jean is wearing a quilted jacket she just made from some of her scraps.

This quilt was made by Missy.

Charlotte displayed several quilts that have been made for her shop.

Bonnie finished this little lap quilt.

Cindy finished this Dresden plate.

Lots of eye candy tonight!
Until next time~~~Gwen

Old Fashioned Day

The drawing for the SCQG 2014 Donation (raffle) Quilt was held on Old Fashioned Day,
October 11, 2014 at the Saline County Courthouse.

This beautiful quilt was won by Cindy D!!

We stirred and stirred and shook the container of tickets then asked a bystander to draw the winning ticket.   Here is a photo collage of the actual drawing (My attempt at uploading a video was unsuccessful):

Thanks to all who worked on the quilt, those who sold tickets at different venues and those who purchased tickets!!
Until next time~~Gwen
