Daytime Stitchers

The Daytime Stitchers met at the Saline County Library on March 24.

Jean gave us a tutorial on making a little sewing kit.  She also gave tips on creating a jacket similar to the one she was wearing.  She has a favorite jacket pattern that she uses and creates just enough quilted fabric to accommodate each pattern piece.  Of course it sounds easy but you can see that care has been taken to make sure the designs match up.

These are samples of her work: a quilted notebook holder, a wallet (made in a recent class) and 3 sewing kits in various stages of completion.

Several people took the same wallet class:

Everyone brought things to show and tell.  Barbara is working on some cute little blue work stitcheries.

Jean worked on a charity quilt.

Marguerite shows the progress she has made on a blackwork piece.

Ola has crocheted several of these alphabet afghans and was almost finished with another one.

Pat has several blocks completed for a new block-of-the-month quilt.  These are available from Sew Graceful shop.

Cely worked on a charity quilt.

 Windy is making a scarf.

Henrietta showed her redwork Christmas design.

March Guild Meeting

The Guild met for our regular meeting in March at the Senior Adult Center in Benton.  Charlotte treated us to a trunk show of quilts made with pre-cuts.  She also talked to us about the use of color and patterns.

Below are two quilts made with the same fabrics but using different patterns.

Below are two more quilts made with the same fabrics but different patterns.

After the program there was show-and-tell.

In the 5:30 workshop,  Beth gave us a tutorial on making the "attic window" block.

Sorry, these next 3 pictures are turned on their sides.  These were part of Charlotte's trunk show.

More show-and-tell.  Sidney showed us several quilts that were made for charity.
