Daytime Stitchers, Monday---Sept. 22

JoAnn gave us a tutorial on the importance of labeling quilts and what makes a winning quilt.

She began by reading this article that appeared in Country Woman several years ago.

Then there was a trunk show of quilts and her process of writing labels.
This is Sue's Twelve Days of Christmas quilt.

This was the row quilt that was taught in our 5:30 workshop.

Back of quilt.  There was a strip of fabric left so it was incorporated in the backing.
Label for Christmas quilt---made using a leftover block.
This quilt was a treasure found buried in a box in a relative's basement.
JoAnn had a photo printed on fabric to use in making a label for this quilt:

After the tutorial there was show and tell:

 Linda crocheted covers for hangers

Jill is hand piecing these blocks. Can't wait to see the finished quilt!

Shirley finished a CHristmas tree skirt.

Patti whipped out a couple of Mondo bags and finished an embroidered quilt.

Sue's little frog is ready to be appliqued.

And she continues work on her floral applique.

Marge has the borders on her Quilt of Valor.  She's making this for her brother who served during the Korean War.  He was a P.O.W. for 2 years.

Jan is knitting a baby blanket.  She also completed several Mondo bags.

Judy recently became involved in a bittersweet endeavor.  She is making little Angel gowns.  These are made from clean wedding gowns.

She also makes little matching bonnets.

More information about the NICU Helping Hands Angel Gowns can be obtained here

Judy is also working on an elongated hexi quilt.

As you can see, everyone has been extremely busy and very productive!
Until next time~~~Gwen
