At Pat's station, she taught the paper-pieced method and shared tips and tricks.
She uses blue painter's tape to create a template right on her cutting mat. Needed pieces are then quickly and easily cut. (She pre-cuts her pieces when paper piecing)
Beth showed us how to use the Accucut system. When using this method, you must remember to place 2 pieces of fabric right sides together over the section that will cut the side triangles. That way you will be sure to get 2 opposite triangles.
Charlotte showed us how to use the Tri-rec rulers.
After the 5:30 workshop and the business meeting we had show and tell. Several have been busy making charity quilts. (Sorry about the blurry picture---and I really need to move so there are no obstructions in the way of these quilts!)
Marguerite has finished a machine embroidered quilt that is very labor intensive. She told how many stitches there are in the quilt, but I forgot to write it down. She also finished an embroidered Christmas quilt, a wall hanging and more Mondo bags. She shared a trick she has discovered that helps her baste quilts much easier: use a curved needle.
Charlotte made a cute Nativity set using a pattern in Nancy Halvorsen's newest book, Christmas, Pure and Simple. The book is available in Charlotte's shop.
Helen showed her completed quilt. Eddie quilted it and there are some wonderful close-up pictures on his blog
Judy finished her snowman
Marge showed a Quilt of Valor she is making for her brother
After show and tell, we launched the "yard sale." My, what a beehive of activity there was! I was so caught up in the moment that I forgot to take pictures of all the wonderful goodies for sale. I think it is safe to say that a good time was had by all.
Until next time~~~Gwen
